Project Linus Make A Quilt Day

When: Apr 7, 2019
12:00 pm
Where: Classroom
Details:

Project Linus provides love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort through the gift of a new, handmade quilt, blanket or afghan created by volunteer “blanketeers” and given to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. Blue Bar Quilts supports this mission by being a drop off site for completed quilts and blankets, as well as sponsoring periodic sewing days in our classroom.

Join us for an afternoon of sewing for Project Linus! We’ll provide the space, and you’ll provide your sewing machine and materials. In addition, Blue Bar is offering a 15% discount for any materials used in a Project Linus quilt. Start a new quilt, work on one that’s in progress, or simply stop in to see what others are working on and get ideas for a Project Linus quilt.

Please note that unlike some Project Linus Make a Quilt events where kits, fabric or batting are provided by the Chapter, this event is an opportunity for you to work on your own project with others. A Project Linus volunteer will be there to answer questions, collect completed quilts, and take advantage of the opportunity to work on their own quilt.

More about Project Linus: Project Linus is a non-profit organization that was started in Colorado in 1995 by Karen Loucks. The Madison Chapter was started in 1998 and has donated over 70,000 quilts and blankets since its inception. Each month, the chapter donates approximately 550 total combined quilts, blankets & afghans. Project Linus survives solely on donations of time, supplies and money from generous individuals and companies.  Visit our website at www.projectlinusmadison.org for information on making blankets, drop off locations, and other ways you can support our mission.
